Fabíola Ortiz

Javier Verduzco, Mexico

“This is my home. … I have been living here for the last twenty years [with] my wife [and] my two daughters of six and seven years old. … Our house is only a few metres away from the geothermal wells of Cerro Prieto. During the night, the wells make too much noise. Sometimes it is so deafening that we cannot sleep. The smell of sulfur also disturbs a lot. We feel sick. … I think we should get more benefits from the geothermal. I am not sure that it is a clean energy. It doesn’t look like it.”
